The Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) Meeting and Diagnostic Error in Medicine (DEM) Conference are being held at the same time at the same hotel. By registering for one Meeting you will have access to both meetings.
The Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) Annual Meeting provides a highly interactive forum for discussion of novel research based on decision and behavior theory and analytical models applied to health related decisions. Presentations of original research, keynote talks, special symposia and short courses will offer attendees the opportunity to explore diverse topics in medical decision making.
Join SMDM for discounts on meeting and short course registration fees. Trainees enjoy deeply discounted rates on membership and meeting registration as do researchers from middle and low income countries as defined by the World Health Organization!
Diagnostic Error in Medicine (DEM) Annual Conference is dedicated specifically to diagnostic error in medicine, co-sponsored by the Society for Medical Decision Making. The ultimate goal of this conference is to improve patient safety by reducing the likelihood of diagnostic error in medicine. Minimizing diagnostic error is an essential component of safe patient care, and towards this end the conference activities are organized to summarize the current state of the field, to review active research, and to consider emerging ideas on the education and research agenda that should be implemented to reduce diagnostic error.
