The theme focuses on understanding and influencing health and health care behaviors from insights into the complexity of underlying human behavior drawn from the confluence of economics, psychology, sociology, biology, and neuroscience.
Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the international leaders in behavioral economics and be exposed to the latest research methods and medical decision making applications.

| Important Note Regarding the 2011 Annual Meeting: |
This will impact your travel plans and hotel sleeping room availability. We are encouraging SMDM Attendees to book their hotel and travel as soon as possible.
It has been brought to our attention that the 2011 SMDM Annual Meeting dates, October 22-26, 2011, will overlap with two other city-wide conferences being held in Chicago. During this time Chicago is expecting over 10,000+ conference attendees.
SMDM has contracted with the Hyatt for a limited number of sleeping rooms and once our block is filled the hotel most likely will not have additional rooms to offer. The same is true for surrounding hotels as they are being used by these two other city-wide conferences. Please note the sleeping room rate at SMDM meeting hotel, Hyatt Regency, DOES include internet access in the sleeping room.
As you know many airlines have reduced the number of flights so seats will fill up fast! If you book your hotel room now and need to cancel, you will not be penalized as long as you cancel 72 hours prior to your arrival.
Please book early to get the best flight times, hotel rooms, and prices!
